The Hunger Church: Be Nourished, Go Nourish

Following Governor Northam's March 30 executive order, Bishop Lewis has cancelled in-person worship for Virginia Conference churches for the whole month of April.  On April 30, further closures will be evaluated as Bishop Lewis and conference leaders continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation.

We will continue to provide worship via Facebook live on Sunday’s at 10:30 am.  For our weekly at-home devotional, click here.

Although the Bishop has told us we cannot hold communion on line, this liturgy is an alternative.   I encourage you to gather the items needed and tune into Facebook on Maundy Thursday, April 9, 2020 at 7pm.  This will not be a Facebook live but a video that you can view.

On Good Friday, April 10, 2020, also at 7pm, there will be a Good Friday Tenebrae video posted.  I encourage you to gather 15 candles (one candle will be the Christ candle). Follow the video for a time of worship in your home.

Stay safe, stay at home, wash your hands and be kind to one another.

For COVID-19 updates, please visit the Arlington District site of the United Methodist Church, or visit the Virginia Conference site of the United Methodist Church.
Our mission as the Hunger Church is to be the helping hands of God, reaching out to all people with the love of Christ.
The Hunger Church is a small community with a deep commitment to sowing good seeds - individually and collectively, and feeding hungers of all types - physical, relational and spiritual.
